2009 Subaru Forester Price Announced : New Subaru 4x4 offroad

2009 Subaru Forester Price Announced
by Anthony Fontanelle
Last month, at the North American International Auto Show, Japanese automaker Subaru unveiled the latest version of the Forester. On February 26, the company announced the pricing for the new Forester. Interestingly, after the improvements made to the Forester, it is priced more than a thousand dollars lower than the outgoing model.
The new Subaru Forester will soon be available at Subaru dealerships across the country starting this April. The automaker announced that the new Subaru Forester will have a starting price of $19,995.
The said crossover vehicle will be available with either a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated or a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine. The naturally aspirated powerplant is available with either a manual or automatic transmission. The turbocharged engine on the other hand is only available with an automatic transmission.
There are overall five variants of the new Subaru Forester. For the Forester with a naturally aspirated engine, there are three trim levels while for the turbocharged engine, there are two available trim packages.
For the Forester with the naturally aspirated engine, the three variants are X, 2.5X Premium Package and the 2.5X L.L. Bean. The third variant comes only with an automatic transmission while the first two can either be coupled with either a manual or an automatic transmission.
The turbocharged Forester meanwhile can be bought in either the standard X trim or the 2.5XT Limited Model. This Limited Model will have a starting price of $26,195 and it will come equipped with a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine which produces 224 horsepower. The package will also include 17-inch alloy wheels.
The naturally aspirated 2.5X trim will have a starting price of $22,495. For that, the Forester will be equipped with a power moonroof, roof rails, rear seat center tray, steering wheel audio controls, and reclining rear seat backs. On the outside, the package will also include 17-inch alloy wheels. The naturally aspirated engine will be mated to a manual transmission.
Tim Colbeck, vice president of sales, Subaru of America, Inc. proudly ticked off the selling point of the new Subaru Forester saying: "For 11 years, the Subaru Forester has been an icon of functionality, dependability and durability. The 2009 Forester now adds greater interior room, improved comfort and more amenities than before, yet with a starting price that is significantly lower than the outgoing model."
Also, the fact that Subaru vehicles have been known to be equipped with auto parts as reliable as Acura CL auto body parts would attract buyers into Subaru dealerships.

How to make Bio Diesel : Hybrid gas car 4 wheel

How to make Bio Diesel
by Peter Ryan

It feels great to fill up your vehicle with inexpensive, clean, renewable, non-foreign fuel!
Bio diesel reduces pollution up to 90% because it has no sulphur in it and adds almost no carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. Bio Diesel comes from plants that take carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere and release oxygen. The plants convert the carbon dioxide to oil so when the oil is burned and carbon dioxide is released, it is a small net increase of carbon dioxide. Because it comes from plants it is renewable. It is also easy on your wallet because it only about $1.50 per gallon to make. The fact that we do not have to buy it from foreign countries is also a huge bonus .
Bio diesel can be used in any regular diesel engine such as cars, trucks, tractors, heavy equipment and even generators without modification. It can be used in any combination with petrol diesel from 100% (B100) to 1% (B1). We usually run B100 in the warm months and B50 to B75 in the colder months to keep the fuel from jelling.
Making your own Bio diesel does take some time and equipment but the process is relatively simple. It is a "low tech" process so almost anyone can do it.
I have always felt that the grass roots public will have to solve this energy crisis. For some reason I do not have confidence that big government, big automakers, and big oil companies will ever solve the problems of pollution, cost and foreign dependence. Maybe it is the fact that they do not want to solve these problems and in fact they have a vested interest in keeping things the way they are, which means unbelievable profits, and/or tax revenues and tremendous power. That is why they want to build a Hydrogen Economy so they can continue to have control over the energy. Whereas, Bio diesel could be done by any number of small producers, which would eliminate the ability of a few huge companies or suppliers to control the energy and the prices.
There is not near enough land available to produce enough vegetable oil for our fuel needs using, corn, soy, rapeseed or palm oil but there is enough land available to produce enough vegetable oil for our fuel need using algae. More on this topic later in our series about Bio diesel.
For now lets see how to make our own Bio diesel.
The first thing that you need to find out is what regulations (if any) your local government (usually County) has on picking up and transporting used vegetable oil. Most smaller counties have no regulations and require no permits. Some of the larger counties do, so check with the Health Department of your county and see if a permit is required and what it takes to obtain one. The other permit that may be required is a processing plant permit.
Check this at the same time. Hopefully there will be none required in you area. If there are permits required you must take this into account when looking at the total cost of producing the diesel. One individual in my county even moved to a neighboring county so he could make his own fuel.
The second step is to locate a supply of used fryer oil. At first this may seem daunting, but as you get into it you realize that there are many sources for oil. Restaurants have been our best source but grocery stores, hospitals, retirement homes, private school kitchens, festivals, large churches that have commercial kitchens, gas stations that sell fried chicken etc. all have oil they need to dispose of.
In the next article we'll go into more detail about this process.

Where to Off-Road : 4 wheel review 4x4 offroad 2009

Where to Off-Road
by Evander Klum

You've got the coolest Jeep. The question is "do you know where to lead it?"
A website named "4wheel Drive" lists ways on how to find new trails and maps in your area.
1. Since the internet is available 24/7, check out an online list of 4x4 trails and maps. It is probably the easiest.
2. Join a local 4x4 league. Aside from exploring new trails, you'll also have the knowledge and experience, as well as personal assistance.
Many states, or sometimes regions, also have an Association of 4WD Clubs. These organizations support to connect you with the most active, best club for your specific interest and abilities. These organizations are also up-to-date with the latest land issues in your area, and they work to keep public lands open to public access.
3. Have a trail map or guidebook. They are available in four-wheel drive accessory stores, map stores, and in the internet; but they vary in the degree of detail they provide. An atlas will help you locate the public lands in your area like State Parks, State Recreation Areas, Bureau of Land Management (BLM), State Forests, National Forests, Off Highway Vehicle Areas (OHV), and State Vehicular Recreation Areas (SVRA).
Other sources of maps are those who manage the public lands in your area. The Bureau of Land Management, for example, provides a variety of maps and Desert Access Guides, and the National Forest Service maps are great because they clearly indicate dirt roads and hiking trails, and whether a road is strictly a 4X4 road or not.
4. Consult your local phone book. Locations of public lands are found on Government pages (usually a different color than the rest of the pages). Locations of lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management are found under the "U.S. Department of Agriculture". For state parks, forests, and recreation areas, browse to the "Department of Environment and Conservation" or "Department of Environment and Protection" pages. And look under the "City Government" pages for city parks and recreation areas.
Contact the office managing the land you would like to explore and ask for the person who is in charge of back road activities or off-road driving. Aside form the directions on the trailhead and basic guidelines for off-road travel, each office should also be able to provide you with trail maps and other material about the surrounding area so that you will not be ignorant of the area. They usually mail the information to you, or you can pick it up on-site.
This guide is definitely a huge help in looking for a place to drive your Jeep.
But there is another thing to note. Before leaving, make sure all your Jeep CJ parts (site:aftermarketperformanceparts.com/jeep-cj-parts.html) are in sound condition. You will not appreciate the wonders of the place you are directed to if a single Jeep part will spoil your trip.

Cheap Gas Device: How to Build a Fuel Injected Water Hybrid : New hybrid 4 wheel 2009 review

Cheap Gas Device: How to Build a Fuel Injected Water Hybrid
by Star Smith
When you turn on your TV and see the news about the out of control gas prices, I bet you worry a bit like I do that soon we won't be able to afford to drive, except for very short trips. The run away gas prices are causing panic in various places around the world - including here in the United States. A few oil speculators are making a bundle at our expense, but officials don't seem to be able to do anything about it. The good news is that there is something the average price gouged citizen can do: find an alternative source for cheap gass. While doing my research, I discovered that there are already some well-known alternatives to driving with gasoline. Cooking Oil - It may sound funny, but converting diesel to run on cooking oil is one way to get around town. Many people use pure cooking oil, but for those who really want to be environmentally friendly, they go around town and collect used cooking oil from restaurants. This sometimes causes vehicles to smell like French fries. Unfortunately, cooking oil only works in diesel engines. Electric Powered Cars - the obvious advantages of electric powered cars is that there would no longer be a need for expensive crude oil. Also, there would be way less air pollution from car exhaust. Unfortunately, the battery powered car has not been perfected for every day use and, even worse, there is no infrastructure in place (like recharging stations) to support them. Car Gas Conversion Kits - Many people are opting for a do it yourself hydrogen kit for gas engines. These kits show you how to build a fuel injected water hybrid energy source. Using easy to find materials like jars, bottles, hoses and connectors, you simply follow the blueprint, then install it in your car. How can water run a car engine? The concept is really just basic science. When we use water in our everyday lives, we are usually filling a glass from the faucet or taking a shower. We never think of it as a power source, but in fact, water is a great power source. When water is electrolyzed, it turns into a hydrogen gas called Browns Gas. This gas gives your car's gas mileage a real boost when it enters the combustible engine. Less gasoline is needed to run your car because the Browns Gas is an extremely high-quality energy burning fuel, and it won't linger in your car engine. The conversion of gasoline engine to water hybrid is one great way to save money on your fuel costs. Your savings can then go towards buying other things you need. There are several plans available online that can show you how to build a water hybrid device. The plans range from complex to easy. If you can follow simple directions, you'll have no problem building and installing one. Soon you'll be enjoying real savings at the pump.

Tips on Buying a Used Car in the UK : used car four wheel review

Tips on Buying a Used Car in the UK
by Sarah Maple

Inspect the Car
" Check tyres to make sure they're road legal. " Check suspension. Push down hard at each corner and let go. The car should spring straight back up and immediately settle at the original level " Check bodywork panels line up correctly and look out for mismatched paint. Either could indicate a crash " Doors that don't close properly and signs of a repaint around rubber door seals are two more signs of a possible crash " Check under the rug between the front and back doors for welding. This could indicate a 'cut and shut' car (where front and back halves from two different cars of the same model are welded together to make a 'new' one) " Stickers can hide damage so peek underneath " Check the exhaust. If it needs replacing, barter the cost off the asking price " While underneath the car, check the ground for oil leaks " Ensure that the gears operate smoothly and the clutch engages correctly " If the car shows low mileage, yet the pedals and seats are worn, the car may have been 'clocked' (i.e. the car's mileage has been altered) " Start the car and check that the oil light goes out straight away " Check the steering wheel moves smoothly and silently from lock to lock " Check the electrics (windows, lights, wipers, radio etc) " Check for exhaust smoke. Excessive smoke of any colour is a sign of trouble " Once the car's warmed up, check that the engine idles smoothly " Walk away from a car that makes rattling or knocking sounds while the engine is running " Check dipstick and inside the oil filler cap. A 'mayonnaise' type residue could mean an expensive repair bill
Tip: Always view a car in daylight when it's dry as raindrops or poor light can hide all manner of superficial, or sometimes serious, problems. Find cheap car insurance with Confused.com Test Drive Always test drive before buying. Try the car out in various conditions, e.g. slow through town and fast on a dual carriageway. Listen for unusual engine sounds; ensure gauges and dials work; use all gears including reverse; listen for suspension knocks when going over speed bumps; test breaks; check whether steering drifts to the left or right when going in a straight line. Also Check...
A full service history (FSH) indicates a well-maintained car. Check last service mileage looks appropriate to the car's current mileage.
If the seller doesn't have the registration document - walk away! Check car number plate matches what's on the document, and ensure the vehicle identification (VIN) number matches what's stamped on the small plaque under the bonnet.
Every car over three years old must have a valid MOT certificate to prove road worthiness. If the MOT's due to expire, ask the seller to get it re-tested. Look at the tax disc to see when the tax runs out - you'll need a valid one before even parking it on the road, let alone driving it. Also check the registration shown on the disc matches the car's number plate, and if there's little or no tax left, ask for its renewal cost to be lopped off the asking price. Car insurance is legally required for any car on the road. You may also want to purchase breakdown cover or a car warranty for further peace of mind.
Car Fraud
If you buy a car that is stolen, illegal (e.g. a 'cut and shut') or has outstanding credit, you have no legal right of ownership and it can be confiscated or returned to the rightful owner. If buying from a dealer, ask what checks they've performed, or you could pay for a 'history report' from companies such as HPI to check whether a car was previously written off, damaged, stolen, or has any outstanding finance.
Tip: If buying privately, always view the car at the seller's home to be sure of their address.
Paying for a Car
When haggling, stay firm and don't be intimidated, keep negotiations calm, and know what you're talking about. This is why it's so important to check the car thoroughly beforehand. Faults uncovered or any imminent expiry of tax or MOT can be used to lower the price.
Paying cash is one of the strongest bargaining chips when negotiating on price as sellers get their money straight away and dealers avoid paying credit card transaction fees.
Credit Cards are a safe and convenient way to buy, but you may not get the best price from a dealer because they'll have to pay a card transaction fee.
If paying by cheque you'll probably have to wait for funds to clear before picking up the car keys. Note: if buying privately, see as much of the seller's ID and proof of address as you can before leaving their home - basically, don't hand over the cheque until you're satisfied the seller will still be there when you return to collect the car.
Bankers Draft's are welcomed by dealers, though a bank will charge a fee for issuing one.
Important: No matter how you pay, always get a receipt.

4 Golden Ways To Save On Gas : Hybrid gas car 4 wheel review

4 Golden Ways To Save On Gas
by Tom Tessin

When gasoline prices are cheap, you never hear about people complaining but once they reach that three dollar mark, it seems like everyone wants to riot but do they ever do it? No. Instead, you just see people fill up at the pumps and drive their SUVs. Gas prices will remain to rise until the demand lowers so much, they will have no choice but to lower it or we stick to alternative fuel source which doesn't seem like it'll ever happen. We could complain about gas prices all day but in the meantime, let's discuss how we can save on gas.
The internet is your friend
Before you set journey to the road, check the internet for places that offer gas prices. If you know you have to fill up on your next trip, hop online to a website like gasbuddy.com that shows you the gas prices in your area. It's a very simple website to use. You simply pop in where you live and users will input gas prices in that area. Find the lowest price and go from there.
Stay away from the freeways
If you're on a road trip or you're in desperate need to fill up, make sure that you avoid the gas stations on the freeways. These stations are generally a little higher than a station off the road. If you simply travel down the road for a mile or so, you'll probably find a station that's a few cents cheaper. If may not sound like a lot but it does add up!
Find cash only stations
Believe it or not, there are gas stations out there that only accept cash. While this may scare away a lot of customers, these gas stations are able to offer lower gas prices because they don't have to pay the credit card merchant fees. If you know of one in your area, bring some cash and fill up. You can usually save a few cents only if use cash. It's a win-win deal!
Check out the clubs
If you live near a Sam's Club or CostCo, you may want to check out this type of place if you don't already have a membership. Most of these warehouse clubs have gas stations where you can save even more on gas. A membership at this type of place is about forty dollars. So not only can you save on gas, you can save on food as well.
Besides these 4 points, there are many other ways you can save on gas such as changing your driving habits, buying a fuel efficient car that get s over 25 miles to gallon, keeping your car well maintained and more. If you take care of your car and you look for deals using the points mentioned above, you shouldn't have a problem saving a few cents a gallon. Remember that every cent adds up and if you're using a SUV, get rid of it! You're only hurting yourself with the high gas bill.
